Williamsburg Edge, New York, NY
Overlooking the East River, the Williamsburg terrace delivers the programmatic functions of an interior living space. There are two components to the design; a kitchen garden space, and outdoor living area. The kitchen garden encompasses an open dining room, working antique farm sink and vine awned pergola, whilst the outdoor living area features a lounge suite set against the Manhattan skyline. The simplicity emanated through the use of contemporary design provides an aesthetically social environment.
To maximize views of the Manhattan skyline, particular attention was paid to the placement of the gathering spaces. An ivy covered fence was placed to the back of the garden to ensure that vegetable garden was not subject to harsh weather conditions.
