Un Jardin En Plus, translating from French to An Extra Garden, is an original piece created in-house by the design team at CDL/S. From afar, the table-like object serves as focal point amongst an array of artificial vegetation on the New York City terrace. As one approaches, the meaning behind Un Jardin En Plus is revealed. Beneath the UV-resistant acrylic table top exists a miniature biome of artificial succulents and mosses. A true conversation piece, Un Jardin En Plus draws the eye inward where viewers describe their own individual take.
Details
The table top itself is laser cut acrylic complete with a drip edge and magnetic connections at the corners for water prevention in the outdoor condition. Reflective components within the piece allow for the surreal perception of a horizontally infinite landscape inside the black square base.
