Wrap Around Terrace, New York, NY
About the project
The wrap around terrace was designed to provide a variety of open spaces to accommodate different social settings. Installing a bamboo shoot screen around the perimeter of the terrace creates an intimate environment, while evergreen trees and hedges, laced with blooming vines and perennials, add to the aesthetic. Selected sculptures were also introduced to the design as a way of engaging visitors and establishing a unique cultural heritage.
Outcome
To compliment the rectilinear terrace, a series of cube planters border the perimeter of a social space. The bamboo shoot screen, along with tall shrubs, guide visitors from one gathering area to another.
